Most of my junior students read at or below the six-grade level and struggle with writing long text. Having headphones in my class will help my students to build fluency skills and be able to focus on drawing meaning from text and applying critical thinking and analysis skills. My diverse learners will be able to use their headphones to apply listening skills as they listen to audiobooks and/or watch movies. The headphones will develop their sensory skills as they listen and hear imagery elements using noise canceling headphones. Students will connect life, sound, and words as they use their headphones to listen to text.
