The items for this project will help create a calming room which will be a safe space for these students to better take care of their mental health. High school is a tough time for many students. Especially with times how they are now, these students need our support now more than ever. With the anxieties of life, and high school in general, these students would greatly benefit from a calming space to be able to diffuse all their worries. This project will allow for students to have a safe and comforting space to visit when they are feeling anxious, angry, overwhelmed, stressed, panicked, scared, you name it, that is what this space will be for. Mental health is so important. If students are not in a good head space they will struggle to learn if they are not able to focus because of their poor mental state. Not only will this benefit the students, but it will also be there for the staff. The staff are working hard to meet the needs of not only their in-person students but also their remote learning students. This learning curve is tough on everyone. Having a space for teachers and staff to come in and relax for a bit can help give teachers the mental break they deserve. It will be a great space for self-care for both students and staff to focus on themselves and leave the worries of the world at the door.
