The books have been written and now they deserve to be ingrained in our students hearts and minds. Negative connotations have filled different forms of media leaving most children of color to look down on the very skin color that holds so much power. I want to purchase these items in an effort to bring back positive connotations about people of color to the classroom. I want our students to be educated and well versed in real true historical facts that allows them to see how people of color have always overcome adversity and ended up on the winning side despite the narrative that is widely popularized.
