We are so excited to follow and learn from the election this year! Students need guidance and help to understand the election and to learn they have power, regardless of being just one. We will be setting up 2 voting booths (Chromebooks with a Google Form) to vote for various things in our classroom. Voting will only take place at recess so it will be optional. There will also be other opportunities to research the topic of our elections. We will be researching and experimenting with different variables such as black and women's suffrage. The outcome will hopefully instill in our children how important it is to vote and take part in our amazing democracy. The students will learn the frustration, disappointment, and unfairness of unequal voting rights in the past. I hope to ingrain an appreciation and love of The United States of America.
