These books will make a huge difference for my students. My students don't have access to books while at home and the ones that they do have don't show case their culture. These books will give the opportunity for my students to read books about their culture as well as learning about other peoples culture. I want to create a learning environment that celebrates everyone for who and what they are. We will be able to celebrate the differences while connecting on our similarities. My students deserve to see people of their culture being the star in their reading. The books will let students to have new copies of old favorites but also the newest books from Coretta Scott King Award and the Notable Books for a Global Society Award.
