Our kinders have been experiencing the pressures of testing and learning using chromebooks and worksheets and I want to make sure that they understand that learning can also be fun and engaging and absorbed from multiple representations. The sensory table, letter stamps, mystery box, and other sensory items will give them the opportunity to learn the alphabet using hands on materials. This will enhance their reading skills and help them retain information through play. It will also give them the opportunity to obtain healthy social skills. These materials align with our Reading Nevada Academic Content Standards. My students have had a tough year with many changes and I want to ensure that their classroom is an inviting, safe, and fun place for them to learn. Providing these materials will help make sure their social, emotional, and mental well being is nurtured. It will set a successful and engaging pathway for many learners in the years to come.
