I teach in a high poverty school. During the 2019-2020 school year, sixty-five percent of our students were on free and reduced lunch. Normally, we ask parents to bring snacks for students. However, this year not only are we trying to keep students bringing things from home to a minimum, some families are facing additional hardships. This project would allow for students to get their bellies full every afternoon without asking families to spend extra money and without students bringing food from home. Children need a full tummy in order to learn. Therefore, an afternoon snack is very important for young students!

About my class
