This project will help students with special needs feel like they are part of their school community and provide them the opportunity to play with peers. Otherwise, the student will be sitting on the sidelines watching without any interaction with peers. By having this swing for my student, joy and smiles from that student will bring happiness to them and others, including the student's same-aged peers. Children with special needs are still children and they also need the same playtime as their same-aged peers. Play is an important part of a child's learning, especially social interaction.
