This project is going to be used to support the literacy skills of three 5th grade classrooms at a Title I school. It will provide our students the opportunity to study current events and help them understand the importance of people, events, and issues in the news. Students develop into informed citizens by engaging in the topics they read about and discussing what they have learned with classmates and their families at home. These subscriptions provide engaging, empowering, and exciting magazine articles geared towards students' interests, historical events, current world events and more. This practice positively affects students reading habits and encourages curious, lifelong news readers.

About my class
