Some students need help getting sensory needs met. This often requires students to touch materials. When the materials they need are not immediately available because another student is using it, or them, or they have to be properly sanitized due to Covid 19, children feel stressed and unsafe. All of the materials would allow for students to have a variety of choices to get their sensory needs met and not wait any longer then they should. We want our students to feel calmer and safer as soon as possible! A pop up tent allows a student a quiet calmer spot when all around them is feeling chaotic. Students are allowed to bring a mat or blanket or whatever they chose into the tent with them to meet their needs. This has proven effective with so many children. Any additional materials will make students feel more in control - faster!
