Help give my students 5 class sets of books they will need to: 1. Summarize and present on a financial literacy topic (independent project); 2. Read, analyze, and explain math concepts while they plan a dinner party and/or cook recipes (partner project); 3. Collaborate and develop a class fundraiser to implement using ideas from a financial literacy text (group project); 4. Learn about financial decision-making, budgeting, and the engineering design process as they complete a Mars Rover project within budget *after* reading the book Hidden Figures which will not only increase content knowledge, but also their literacy skills with the additional bonus of emphasizing and celebrating black female contributions to our society.
