Given my students' skill deficits in the areas of social skills, emotional regulation, and/or executive functioning, I recognize the importance of supporting students' social-emotional needs. For this reason, I am hoping to create a library of books related to social-emotional learning. The books included on my list focus on coping with challenges, understanding emotions, building empathy, diversity, and more! When selecting books, I chose books with diverse characters so that all my students would feel represented. My hope is that these books, paired with my instruction, will help students develop their social-emotional awareness. The discussions that result from the stories will help my students learn targetted skills. My students will also be able to connect with and learn from the characters as we work on transferring skills to real life. Thank you for considering donating to my project!
