Math manipulatives encourage students to find new ways to build their understanding. In fifth grade we learn a lot about fractions and decimals. These can be difficult concepts for visual learners, who just can't see the math in their head. Long story short - 5th Grade Math is HARD - Cuisenaire Rods help make it easy! They help students actually see the different parts of a whole, so they can add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions with a tangible object. My hope is every student will be able to follow COVID safety precautions by each receiving their own set.
