Air purifiers are to keep our classroom safer to breath since we are fully in person. All students deserve the appropriate materials to make learning effective and productive. In the past we have shared these materials. All of my students need individual materials this year because of Covid. Many families do not have the means to provide these supplies for themselves. Pencils and pencil sharpeners keep students at their desk learning vs wandering around the room looking for a communal sharpener or pencil jar. During math lessons keeping students engaged with their own white boards where the can actively work on their problems has proven effective. Art materials are a must in an elementary classroom. Students are often engaged in artistic projects and without materials such as markers, scissors and glue students can not do their best work and be proud of their finished product.
