I have some fantastic elementary students that are excited about coding and technology. We have been talking about giving them the opportunity to learn coding and use LEGO robotics to compete against other schools in our region, our district, and possibly the state. My students will be programming and assembling LEGO Mindstorms kits to solve problems. The kits are composed of motors and sensors that allow students to complete challenges to everyday problems. They will be asking questions such as how can I make a machine follow a path and make a decision or deliver a payload to the correct location, etc. Robotics is a hands on way to teach kids coding and engineering. I am requesting laptops with 16gb of ram so I can install an IDE and introduce the students to C and python, or a similar language.
