In my class, I like to build on our story elements by doing book clubs. Each and every book will be used in our book clubs/novel studies. The books will help build vocabulary, imagination, strengthen understanding of story elements, and create a love for reading! The students will be able to read their books at school or take them with them to go home. In the past, the students have begged me to do more book clubs with them. It gets them reading books they never would have chose themselves. I have found that through book clubs/novel studies, the students can't put their books down and their knowledge is stronger in their understanding of story elements.
