We began our year teaching Kindergarten to both Brick and Mortar students, as well as virtual students. It was a lot of work to come up with a way to keep both classes on the same page, using two different platforms. Although the work load was a lot for the teachers, we learned so much about technology and some of the options that are available for students that are as young as ours. One of the things that we most want to integrate into our brick and mortar classes are our students being able to interact with some of our lessons. We are so excited to have them not only show us that they are able to complete a center, but they can show us how they can read a book, or even record themselves reading for another student. The possibilities are endless. We do have two classrooms now, and would love to have at least 3 Samsung Galaxy tablets in each room for student use. Our students do not have technology available for them on a regular basis, because our in class laptops have been checked out to students for Virtual Learning. We understand the need for this, but do not want our students to miss out on these amazing opportunities to learn in a fun and meaningful way.
