My students have always benefited from having a calming spot in the classroom to take a break, belly breathe and ride the waves of their big emotions. Learning to regulate emotions is a life skill that will benefit students for decades to come. We now have to rethink how we set up this area of our classroom due to Covid-19. Pillows, stuffed animals and blankets are no longer safe to use in a group setting. My goal is to rethink our oasis so that it meets current health and safety regulations while still providing a calm place to self-soothe. I would like to fill the area with items that are easy to clean and disinfect between uses. Thank you for your care for our little ones with special needs!
