These resources will allow me to add a portion of my room that will help my students engage in actively expressing their emotions. These games will allow my students to work through their problems in real time while working on appropriate social skills through games like "Breaking Barriers Down", "Mad Dragon" and "Emotional Rollercoaster". With the use of situational games that are age appropriate, the goal is that the children can efficiently express their concerns and problem solve! When a child enters my room, I aim to help them identify how they are feeling, why they are feeling this way, and what we can do to overcome these feelings and return back to class as an active, participating member. Activities such as yoga, tangrams, and books about emotions are used as a calming mechanism that can help my kids find their calm before continuing on to solving their problems. I also believe that displaying options in a clear and organized way with easily carried wooden trays makes my room feel less chaotic and more of a calming atmosphere.
