Kindergarten is the starting point of so many things in a child's life whether that be their literacy or math journey or even their fine motor development. For many, it is the first time they do finite things with their hands like writing, coloring, cutting, and gluing. It is so important to practice all of these skills daily. Young children want and need the opportunity to develop their fine motor skills. Through various activities, young children are developing and strengthening the muscles needed for writing. What better way to do that than while they are working on some of fun reading and math activities. The Alphabots, Numberbots, Alphabet Dinosaurs, and Number Turtles Set will help my students strengthen their fine motor skills while working on basic reading and math skills. Not only will the children be building letter and sound correspondence, reading sight words, adding and matching numerals to sets, they will be developing the muscles in their hands as they match the capital and lowercase letters and connect the numerals with their quantity. These items will help my students develop both their academic and fine motor skills in a fun and engaging way. Students will be able to practice directional and fine motor skills with different STEM items like Brain Flakes, Wooden Geometric Tangram Pattern Blocks, Interlocking Discs, and Magnetic 3D Building Sticks. These items will provide lots of practice on so many foundational skills. It will not only help them develop the muscles in their hands, but also improve their eye-hand coordination. They will have the opportunity to become more independent when buttoning and snapping clothes, picking up small items, using precise hand and finger control and so much more.
