The dictionaries that I'm requesting for my Bilingual third-grade students, will help them build their vocabulary, spelling, and the basics for using a thesaurus. My students are learning about different styles of writing so that they can become better writers. By the use of a dictionary, not only would it help them with spelling, but it will help them with standard pronunciation, definitions, parts of speech, and an example of how the word is used in a sentence. The use of a bilingual dictionary will help the students translate the words from their home language to English so that they can understand unfamiliar words.
