I work at a Title 1 school where all students receive free or reduced lunch. My students, unfortunately, have limitations to the resources available to them outside of school. While they learn from home, they are especially encountering more limitations. I want to give them equal opportunities as they continue their education from home. I’m asking that you consider donating to help ensure that all of my students have headphones to use with the Chromebooks that the school has provided for them. In many cases, other siblings are also having live meetings with their teachers and a lot of background noise is picked up when students don’t have headphones on. This will not only help with their individual focus, but it will be easier for the students to effectively communicate with their teachers and peers. Some students have headphones from the dollar store currently, but they have already broken or they are the small buds that go into their ears and they end up taking them out because they are hurting their ears. The headphones I’ve requested are large and will cover their ears and help to keep out the extra sounds around them.
