Some of our students want to further their education locally and others want to experience life at an Ivy League school. Regardless of where their futures take them, they need technology to research opportunities and complete online applications. We live in a low SES community and many of our students don't have access to technology or the internet at home so the responsibility of completing the required online pieces for college admissions falls on the shoulders of our school, specifically the counseling department. In a technology driven world, how are our students expected to excel without the proper guidance? Having technology available to our students in the counseling department would allow them to sign up for ACT, complete college and scholarship applications, research post secondary options, complete the FAFSA, work on resumes, and so much more. This use of resources allows our future leaders to be equipped for what will, without a doubt, be waiting for them.
