I have several active students in my class. Rather than discourage their movements and fidgeting, I want to give them an opportunity to get their energy out in a constructive way. Fidget bands and sensory seats help students focus and expend energy during school. I want students to feel comfortable while they learn. I am a fidgety person myself. I wish I had had something to kick or bounce on when I was a child. I think it would have helped me focus more and feel less anxious. I want to give that opportunity to my students because I never had it myself.
