I want my students to be able to see themselves and their community members in the books we read. Students should have books in school that mirror their lives, give them windows in to the lives of others and provide sliding glass doors into the life experiences of those around them. I want to continue my own education as an anti-biased/anti-racist educator in progress. One of my goals as an educator is to strongly encourage students to be their most authentic selves, and to create a safe and reflective space for them to do that in!
