Many students do not have age appropriate reading materials at home. Remote learning has limited our ability to have reading groups. These books will give the students the ability to pick out a book they want and take it home to read. They will begin their home library and learn to read for pleasure. I have learned that the younger you begin with reading for fun the more students will read outside of school. This drives the love of learning that will carry into later years. I would like to see the students able to gather books throughout the school year and build their home library as the year progresses.
