Developing a love of reading is essential for every student. Finding exciting and engaging text to support this can be difficult, especially in the upper elementary grades. As a teacher I am always looking for creative ways to connect with my students academically...and to make learning fun!! By donating to this project you will help each of my students get their very own copy of the Storyworks magazine. There is something to be said about holding a paper copy of a book, magazine, or whatever else you may be reading. Students are spending hours in virtual environments, and I would love to provide them a way to interact with engaging text away from the screen. Not only do these magazines provide great educational skills aligned to state standards, the articles are current and relevant to young readers. This resource will provide so much more than just articles to read. It will provide rich discussions with peers, debates, laughs, conversations with family around the dinner table, connections to other students around the world, and hopefully, and most importantly a love of reading!
