My district started the school year remotely, however, in October my students will be returning to school on a hybrid basis to receive the academic support they need. My team of para-educators and I will be working with those students on their specific Individual Education Plan Goals. These students will be attending virtual lessons with their mainstreamed teacher, but receiving academic and technology support by my team and me, in our classroom. Although it sounds like a clear plan, there will definitely be remote challenges, for both students and teachers. My goal is to reduce as many of these obstacles and challenges that my students will encounter in their virtual learning as I can, to allow them to better access their education and have their time on the computer be efficient and effective. I believe there are two simple solutions that will have the greatest impact in helping the students succeed. The first solution is to provide each student with a computer mouse. The touchpad on the chrome book can be difficult to use, which adds to my students’ frustration. This simple frustration has actually turned some of my students away from doing their classwork. The second solution is to provide each student with a headset to use with their computer. Being in a classroom where several students will be either attending different virtual lessons with their mainstreamed teachers or having one-to-one instructional lessons in-person, it will be very busy and distracting environment. The headsets will allow students to focus their attention on their classwork and teacher by limiting the background distractions. In addition, the microphone on the headset will provide the student better ability to participate without the background noise distracting them. Lastly, I plan to use the large bags to the safely store all the equipment that is
