These alternative seating options will be used to help students feel comfortable and safe in their learning environment. With all of the craziness going on outside of school at the moment I hope to give the students some free choice of their own in school by allowing them to choose an alternative seat to the traditional desk. With the current situation in mind, all of the options are either machine washable or easily wiped down in order to maintain the safest environment possible for the students. Although this seems like a small part of their school day, you wouldn't believe the freedom students feel when they are able to sit and complete their work in a different spot, or when they can find a nice quiet space to do their silent reading in. Typically during a school day students have a lot of transition and choice, but unfortunately due to the current epidemic their transitions have been extremely limited. Allowing them to have the option to get a new "perspective" throughout the day within the classroom can give them some of that choice and freedom back. I would greatly appreciate any help to make my students daily school life as normal and positive as possible!
