The majority of my students are in small living spaces with other family members and students while they are in class. At times, it gets very noisy that they can't focus, and much less engage with me virtually because of the background noise. I even had a student ask me not to call on him to participate because there was too much noise in the kitchen. It really broke my heart to see the struggle. My school has given them devices and hot spots too some, but they need to be able to filter out the noise so that they can engage virtually.
