My hope is to instill a lifelong appreciation of music. Having these items will help us put what we are learning into practice. The use of the guitar and recorder will help benefit the band program as well, since they will already have been reading and playing music. Other students may decide that music can be an outlet for them one day and decide to just play the guitar or another instrument for fun on their own. If we are allowed to have programs in the future, it will provide us with new, exciting avenues of performance as well! I am hoping that the guitars will be funded for the fourth graders. It is an instrument that would be quiet enough to teach and play in the normal classroom! We will need the recorders funded so that each student will have a recorder (that they don’t have to share) during this pandemic. The fifth graders will use the recorders in a manner to help recruit for and advance the skills of the musicians in the band program.
