We are teaching 100% online as many of the schools across the nation are. The majority of our Chromebooks have microphones that do not operate correctly, causing students to sound garbled or robotic when they participate whole group or share in small groups. This discourages participation. Individual headsets with microphones would promote equity of voices for all of my students. This would also help with less distraction from their environment and increase participation within the zoom setting. When a child knows they can be heard clearly, it boosts their confidence and promotes a successful future.
