Standing desks will allow my students to be more flexible with their seating options. Seventh graders have a hard time sitting all day long and need a chance to expel excess energy. Some can be more focused and engaged when they have the ability to stand and wiggle while they are learning. Standing encourages them to be more creative with the lesson and assignments. They have the opportunity to connect movement to remember new topics. Stand up desks give them choices that they don't normally have in the classroom setting.
