Many of my students are from low-income homes and do not even have a computer or wifi at home, let alone a printer. However, they often need to print assignments and job or college applications. Because we have limited copiers in my building, the copying rooms are locked, and teachers must buy their own paper, it's just not feasible to let students use the copiers to print what they need. In the library options are limited as well, and students must pay to print. Having a printer in my room will make it easier for students to print out their work or get documents ready for work or college and help them be more successful in school and in life. It will also help me when students lose assignments and I am out of backups-- I can print what they need on demand.
