STEM is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through STEM, students develop key skills including problem solving. The manipulative materials will be set out in the classroom for children to play with during center play. We will also use some materials during group time to work together and figure out ways to make a structure that will not collapse. This will help strengthen our critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as our social skills as we work together with our peers.
