The school district in Baltimore is finding it difficult to get the needed supplies for students learning from home. One of the needed supplies for an English class is a literary text. Without a physical book to read, students will not learn the skills needed to annotated and find the evidence needed to support their claims. I also know authors need to receive credit for their work no matter if we are in the midst of a pandemic or not. Unfortunately, I do not have the funds needed to supply all my students with the reading materials they will need for the year and that would usually be provided by the district. Thank you for your help in providing equity for our distant learners.
