By using Scholastic News in my classroom, I can keep my students current on what is happening in the world around them. They are growing up in a time in which the world seems like an unfamiliar place to them, but with the engaging and age appropriate perspective given by Scholastic, my students will be able to more confidently approach situations in everyday life. These magazines are fantastic for teaching nonfiction text features. I am already getting excited for the many ways I can start using these with my students to help them better understand the genre of nonfiction, all while helping to educate them on current events.
