The use of various art supplies will provide endless projects for my students. Life after school is more than working 40 hours a week. Teaching hobby skills for life gives my students ideas and experiences for future time on their hands. Many students with disabilities find art a soothing and meditative experience that helps focus and calm them. The art supplies will enhance the lives of the students within the program. First, we want to give students exposure to various sensory supplies like clay and paint. They can control what they create and how long it takes them to finish. Art lends itself to autonomy with set up, creation, and clean up routines. I have seen how choice and responsibility can positively affect students' mental health and work skills. I hope these additional art supplies help us grow even more.
