Physical education games and sports can help prepare my students for the real world by teaching life long skills. Studies show that students with a quality physical education program often develop better leadership skills, more confidence, and better team-working abilities. The use of hula-hoops in my gym can widen student growth from learning basic manipulative skills to team games where STEM can be incorporated into P.E. Students can use hula hoops to build structures in real time and compete against their peers. Hula Hoop Huts is a game where my students can take on the roles of engineers-builders, demolition specialist-throwers, and barricades-protectors, to explorer and discover their potential. The game is a perfect example of real life, and a great vehicle for teaching my students the skills needed to succeed.
