Books are fun! Books educate! These books will foster a love of literature and teach about the importance of understanding others and loving our differences. I will use these during reading time and I will include class discussions. I have projects planned around each of these books. They can even become a stepping stone for a Project-based Learning activity. I am looking forward to opening my young students' minds to think beyond themselves and learn about empathy and caring for others. I also hope that my students will see themselves in these stories.
