My reading program is an amazing reader's workshop that really targets reading at each individual child's personal reading level. Because I have varied learners I need a plethora of books to meet their needs. Each week a child gets to "shop" for books in our classroom library to put in their very own book bags that they use during independent and partner reading times. They choose approximately ten plus books at a time for this shopping extravaganza. It is so rewarding to see them collect their bags each day to read. When a student really gets hooked on a book, they often like to take the books home. I would love to have enough books to sustain this reading program.
