With the introduction of Covid, school budgets have been affected when replacing aging technology in the classrooms. Focus has been on getting technology in the hands of students learning from home (as it should be), but this is at the cost of losing technology in the classroom. The Epson Powerlite projector will first help me introduce new information to the students in my classroom. By combining that with the document camera, it will help my students visualize the education process in the classroom as well as to those at home.
In my College Career Readiness class, my students are analyzing and presenting Resumes, Cover letters, College Essays, and Student Portfolios with their classmates. Using a projector cuts the cost of printing copies to put in each hand of the 20+ students I have in the classroom. This will also allow our "At Home" students to present to our students in the classroom.
In Physical Science the Kodak document camera will allow me to work out problems in real time for my in person students but I still have the ability to record for my students at home. I will be able to write out chemical equations, draw diagrams and label. This will allow me to record classwork in a way that doesn't break FERPA laws by accidentally showing a student's face that shouldn't be shown.
