With the restrictions of the pandemic, sharing class materials is not recommended at this time. I do not always have time to clean and disinfect every instrument between classes. I want my students to be able to use instruments and manipulatives to make music fun. These personalized music kits would allow each student to have his or her own set of materials to safely use for the entire year. The dowel rods can be used as rhythm sticks or drum sticks. Each pool noodle can be cut into pieces that can be scraped together for a percussive sound. Students use scarves to emphasize movements to different kinds of music. Finally, the plastic eggs make wonderful shakers! These few items will allow students to experience the fun and creativity of making music safely. All the items will belong to the school, and they will be cleaned and stored for future use once the schoolyear is over.
