My students always do their best and put forth a tremendous amount of effort in the classroom to learn all of the necessary skills for them to be successful in first grade and in life. My students are so deserving of having a recess or brain break that allows them the freedom of choice. I have chosen outdoor activities that will enhance their ability to have fun while still feeling connected to their friends. Playing outside in a friendly game of soccer or scoop toss will help to improve their motor skills while jumping rope will increase their coordination and self control. Recess is such a key component in fostering a well-rounded and happy child. Since our playground equipment is not an option this year, this recess equipment will be beneficial and empowering to my students. This equipment allows them the control to choose which physical activity suits their needs each day. By giving students a brain break, while engaging their bodies in physical activity, will promote increased engagement when students return to learning in the classroom.
