Distance Learning has brought unique challenges for educators. In a typical classroom, teachers can be animated, walk around, reference information on a white board, and perform demonstrations to enhance student learning. In a DL environment, teachers are restricted to a confined space - their desk - which does not allow for engaging interaction with students. A stand up desk would allow me to move around and easily perform live demonstrations for students instead of a “sit and get” oral lesson. Additionally, it would help my overall health of standing and engaging thereby allowing me to show up energetically on a daily basis.
