Although I have been saving books my entire life, it is now more than ever that children's books are becoming more diverse. The funding of more books would be a dream come true, for both the students and the teacher. The gift of reading alone is priceless. I want my students to have books where they can see themselves looking like the character in the story, or talk about how they may have to walk to school or have to use assistive technology in the classroom. I want a library that is inclusive. The students would benefit from these materials for years to come. The cassette players will be used so that they can listen to books while having a physical copy in front of them. Learning concepts about print is an important skill in kindergarten and having the tools to listen and follow along with a physical copy is a great opportunity for them.
