My amazing 3rd graders will be challenged this year! Many are behind on their academics (especially in math) due to the COVID quarantine. They are expected to move from adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers using multiple strategies to multiplication and through fractions. A second monitor will allow me to watch their faces for understanding as we go. Many of my incredibly resilient and optimistic 3rd graders tested at first and second grade levels in math. I need to support their growth through third grade curriculum and help them understand what they didn't understand in math last year. Meanwhile, I need to support their growth in literacy, and I'm hoping to do that with reading and writing groups. This second monitor will allow me to monitor their faces for understanding while I'm referencing content on the other screen.
