Research shows the more one reads the better the reader he becomes. I want my students to constantly have access to interesting books since we will be reading both in class and at home. Unfortunately, our school library is off limits to students during this tentative time, and so I am finding it falls on me to get good books that teens will want to read. I am trying to collect multiple copies of good titles so that a group of students can read the same book to promote discussions and increase motivation. It is so fulfilling to me as an educator to witness students having lively discussions inspired by issues in the literature they are reading. The books I have chosen are all on lists of popular adolescent novels.
