I am requesting a variety of books to expand my collection. My students come from a lower socioeconomic area, so buying good books is not always possible. I intend to start a book therapy club along with my school counselor. Through this program we would like to expose students to the therapeutic benefits of being an avid reader. We would meet and discuss books that are relevant to their circumstances. Many of my students have experienced multiple traumas, as well as a shared trauma in the form of a school tragedy that took place in December of 2018.
