My students love to learn music while being hands-on and exploring the music for themselves. They love to dance and make rhythms together. Since we aren't able to share equipment together, our options for being 'hands-on' are very limited. As much as I've tried to make learning music engaging for my students, I can see the longing for more in their eyes. We will explore rhythm and note reading with our rhythm sticks and egg shakers, and explore movement with our scarves. Students will become better musicians by being able to practice for themselves.
